Study: Nearly 1/3 of gay employees can't wait till Friday afternoon

by Jeremy Hooper

A new Careerbuilder.com/Harris Interactive study suggests that 28% pf LGBT workers have suffered workplace harassment. Moreover, nearly half of those harassed described the intimidation as severe:

Study: 28 Percent Of LGBT Workers Harassed [365Gay]

But yea, you social conservatives are probably right: We gays are likely just seeking workplace protections in order to fulfill our agenda. So sorry to suggest otherwise. We'll just go back in our still-marginalized bunkers now and let you kids go ahead and fear-mongeringly speak on the issues that truly affect our lives. After all, it's your world, we just continue to get demonized in it.

::sigh:: There are people who deny our protections so as to fulfill their socio-politic-religo goals.

It's unclear how many "pro-family" conservatives report getting harassed at work on the basis of who they are. We tried calling them and finding out, but neither were at home.

Your thoughts

I had a job that paid $100,000 a year that I quit due to discrimination. My boss refused to even give me a DESK to work at... and that was the tip of the iceberg. I could write a book about what went on. There was no way to prove that it was because I am gay but it WAS because I am gay. I was never "forced" out but I was made so miserable that quitting was the only way to stay sane.

I suffered a severe depression for a few years after that but I've moved on. Sometimes you just have to forgive and look forward instead of looking back.
