Gay man now working to make turncoats trendy
Michael Glatze, founding editor of the now defunct Canadian magazine Young Gay America, has become the latest to be frightened by religious persecution into embracing the "ex-gay" lie. And like most other "ex-gays," he can't just be happy in his newfound "ex-gaydom." No, no -- he instead has to write a commentary for the extremely anti-gay WorldNetDaily news site, wherein he maliciously demonizes his former gay rights movement and queer allies, saying things like, "Homosexuality, delivered to young minds, is by its very nature pornographic" and "We cannot see the truth when we're blinded by homosexuality." Check out the unbelievably offensive, traitorous piece below:
How a 'gay rights' leader became straight [WND]
A few things to consider while reading:
-He never once actually says he is attracted to females, despite the duplicitous headline, "How a 'gay rights' leader became straight."
-He tells WND, "I feel strongly God has put me here for a reason. Even in the darkest days of late-night parties, substance abuse and all kinds of things – when I felt like, 'Why am I here, what am I doing?' – there was always a voice there." This is a similar tactic we saw recently used by Charlene Cothran and have seen from countless other "ex-gays": Making it sound as if late night parties, clubbing, or drug abuse are one and the same with same-sex desire.
-He writes numerous lines that his ass simply cannot cash, such as "...homosexual sex – and all other lust-based sex – is never satisfactory: It's a neurotic process rather than a natural, normal one." This neglects the millions of gays who do not let lies and religious right propaganda inform their lives, and who know ONLY same-sex relations as "natural." For this writer personally, it was the many failed youthful attempts to make opposite-sex relations his reality that led to neuroses! But, of course, the anti-gay team works from the place that gay relations can only be lust, with only male-female pairings being able to brand their physical/mental/social/financial partnerships with the "love" label. It is a fundamental untruth that informs their every queer-unfirendly endeavor!
-He works from the place that gays are essentially God-less, so as to foster his illusion that if one is "saved" by Jesus, they can become straight "ex-gay." This discounts the scores of religious and spiritual LGBT folks who feel deeply connected with their faith. Our opposition's non-stop hijacking of the man upstairs is truly disturbing!
-Again asserting that true gay love cannot exist, Glatze says, "We cannot fully be ourselves when our minds are trapped in a cycle and group-mentality of sanctioned, protected and celebrated lust." And again, this sets up the false premise that each and every member of the gay community shares one group-thin-laden mindset. This is, however, bullshit! "Ex-gay" proponents like to paint the picture of a community that lives, eats, breathes, and functions in exactly the same way. In fact, it often seems like what they are speaking out against is their former participation in gay cultural elements, not gay coitus. It is more convenient for them to put an image in their supporters minds of a man wearing a feather boa dancing on a Pride float to thumping music. But this line of thought disregards the fact that gays exist in all walks of life in all sorts of cultures. One can live on a farm in Wyoming, listen only to country music, possess a political mind that begins and ends at American Idol, love Jesus, and despise both Rosie O'Donnell and Barney Frank, yet still listen to their bodies and know their gay truth. Despite what critics wish people to people, it does not require one to buy into the "gay lifestyle" to be same-sex-oriented
-We repeat: There is not one mention of Mr. Glatze now enjoying females. The "ex-gay" movement is one of the only situations in history wherein "change" has been defined (by some eager beavers) as merely pausing one's past actions. We never doubt that some of these folks have become celibate. Anyone has that ability. However, such is not "change."
Alright, we have nothing else to say about this, as the whole thing just makes us really sad. Due to the excessive persecution that comes along with being gay, yet another person has been rooked into placing his natural desire on the shelf. And even worse, he is now buying into the disinformation campaigns that he used to oppose, and working to keep his former allies marginalized, demonized, or worse. A man who fought to make the world better for scared gay youth is now fighting to make the world better for non-accepting parents. It's just...sad.
Mr. Glatze, we'll be here for you when you wise up.

Your thoughts
No-one is asking you to anathematise homosexuality overnight. It's always difficult to believe that we might be in the wrong, but we ought at least to be open to the possibility- it's a sign of maturity. At least open your hearts and minds to the possibility that what Michael is saying is true, and ask God to help you understand the truth about your real self, and about human sexuality. Look deep inside your soul. God loves everyone, not matter what they have done, and desires that they come to the knowledge of the truth- if you ask him with sincerity, he will work miracles for you. Repent, and know God's love. Implore his mercy- there is still time. But there will come a day of judgment when those who have rejected God will be destroyed. Don't be one of those people. Jesus Christ loved you so much he died for you, and while there is still breath of life in you he will move mountains to heal you from this terrible affliction, if only you ask him.

The funny thing about being open to possibility, It is something you should entend first before talking about it. This post is addressed to the anonomous poster before me.

KAREN and DONNA B, you two are the one who are not listening, and simply ignoring the obvious: "christian" lies. Typical ignorant heterosexuals.
