'Gay' means 'happy' hour: Logo opens tab at 'Bar'

by Jeremy Hooper

Picture 15-23This Saturday at 9PM ET/PT, Logo will host the network premiere of the 2006 documentary Small Town Gay Bar.

Highlights of the doc: The eye-opening account that members of the American Family Association used to sit outside of local gay bars, take down license plate numbers, and reveal them on the radio the following morning.

Lowlight of the doc: Far too much attention to Westboro Baptist.

Overall verdict: You'll wanna stick around until last call.

So check it out, be you small town lezzie, big city straight, suburban queen, or somewhere in between. Just be sure to close your blinds, as the American Family Association might be out your window ready to reveal that you support the idea of gays congregating at nighttime!

Real Momentum: Small Town Gay Bar [Logo]

Your thoughts

It feels like Logo is trying to get away from its' previous silliness. I hope this is a taste of better things to come.

We really need more exposure of how dangerous groups, like the APA, are. Phelps is so volcal that everyone hates him, but these intimidation tactics that are so far away from what the APA says it espouses are a form of emotional terrorism. The more documentary that's done like this one, the more people will see them for the dangerous group that they are.
