With things like war on table, Senate temporarily puts 'hate' on shelf

As you might have heard yesterday, the Defense Authorization bill to which the Senate version of the proposed hate crimes legislation was amended, has been pulled from the floor.

Translation of this boring political jargon: There's no Senate passage of this legislation coming in the very near future. In fact, there is no guarantee of when DoD authorization will go back to the floor, with some speculating it will not be until after the August recess.

::sigh:: And here we thought our opposition's non-stop, unscrupulous lies about this legislation would be nipped in the bud by summer's end. Oh well -- here's hoping their deception will fall by...autumn.
