God-that you've hijacked-speed, Dr. Kennedy!
Yesterday, Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries announced his retirement. That being the case, let's look back at some of Mr. Kennedy's "proud" body of work.
"Well, what does a homosexual marriage look like? Well the longest term that we have to take a look at it is in the Netherlands. And one sociologist made a study of that and found out that the average marriage between two men lasts 1.5 years. Furthermore, they don’t even believe really in monogamous marriages. On average, the average married homosexual man has 8 other sexual partners per year. So those year and a half marriages involved also sex with 12 other men during that time."

"They’ve said what they want is to destroy marriage all together. They don’t want to become like us as so many naive people think. What they want to do - is make us like them. And open the door to all kinds of sexual chaos. "

When you have an immoral society that has blatantly, proudly, violated all of the commandments of God, there is one last virtue they insist upon: tolerance for their immorality. They will not have you condemning what they have done as being wrong, and they have created a belief system in which it is not, and in which they are no longer the criminal or the villain or the evil person, but you are!"
Dr. Kennedy, despite your non-stop attacks over the years against our lives and loves, we will not speak ill of you on a personal level. That's not the way we roll. But that being said, forgive of us if we don't buy you a commemorative plague to highlight all of your past accomplishments. For when you so staunchly attack a community of people (not just gays, but other "progressives" as well) in the ways that you have, your career is overshadowed by your raging antipathy. We have no doubt that you accomplished many truly decent things over your years of ministry, Dr. DJ. However, unfortunately for you, that is not what the vast majority will remember in the long run. They will remember the divisiveness you fostered and the pain you inflicted. That legacy will far outlive us all.
So on this time of your retirement, DR. DJ, we will only say that as you think about the rest of your life, we hope you'll look back and consider the true harm your words and actions have caused for so many over the past decades. Because as long as there is life in you, there is hope. There is hope that you'll make amends and "repent" for your bias encouragement. There is hope that you'll realize that you did not help this "depraved society" by demonizing its most marginalized and demonized minority, but rather you exacerbated the depravity. There is hope that a nice gay doctor will nurse you back to health, bringing forth a new sense of acceptance that you will proceed to share with your "pro-family" fellows. There is hope that you will finally see the light, which will ultimately prove to you that we gays are not the darkness that you've made us out to be.
So happy retirement, Dr. Kennedy. Here's hoping you'll have the opportunity to travel, will get to take up shuffleboard, and will eventually stop viewing us through the bastardized, stereotypical lens of "immorality" that has been so thoroughly and deceptively painted by you and your buddies. Perhaps your pension plan will provide you with a new world view.

God loves you - all men are depraved. Having sais that, it is in your common interest as a community to look truth right in the eye and deal with it.

Dr. Kennedy did his very best to try an save this great nation of ours from the rath of God,and the abandonment of his protection from hostile nations.But it seames as thou his great wisdom an life time of effort has fallen on deaf ears.He is now gone to be with his maker after a job well done,but you remain in the land of the living. take heed an consider your destany we all perish an then the judgment!

Anon: In your comment, "an" should be "and" (on 3 different occasions), "rath" should be "wrath," "thou" should be "though," "life time" should be "lifetime," "destany" should be "destiny." Oh, and your views should be more open to the fact that gay people are, have always been, and will always be part of the spectrum of reality.
