Report: 'The decider' closer to reminding us why he's unworthy of that role

by Jeremy Hooper

LamebushThe ultra right-leaning Washington Times newspaper has provided more evidence that the president will veto hate crimes legislation, should it pass the Senate and make its way to his desk. White House spokesman Tony Fratto is quoted as saying:

"The qualifications [in the bill] are so broad that virtually any crime involving a homosexual individual has potential to have hate crimes elements"
...
"The proposals they're talking about are not sufficiently narrow."

Annoying. But honestly, at this point in the game, who's even surprised? After all, in terms of the American public's opinion, Bush would seem to be more out-of-step than our drunk, 90-year-old aunt is when she tries to do join the conga line at family weddings, parties, bar mitzvahs:

Picture 21-9

Seriously, Bush is sealing his place on the right side of history about as well as Lindsey Lohan is claiming her spot in the annals of sobriety. At this point in the game, we'd actually be a little scared if he WAS on our side!!

So you go ahead and veto, GWB. We've been saying for years that future presidential libraries should more closely resemble absurdist fun/haunted houses than esteemed halls of legacy remembrance!
