The more things change, the more they stay pissed at Bush
The good folks at Wonkette are today running a piece on some "Iran-Contra Scandal Trading Cards," which they say "remind us that the same motherfucking people have been fucking up everything with the same fucking 'enemies' or 'allies' forever." An article that reminded us of this 1991 edition of Alison Bechdel's legendary "Dykes to Watch Out For" comic strip, which almost seems like it could've been written yesterday:
Hell, without the Dan Quayle reference, we wouldn't even know if the soundtrack to this was "Truth or Dare"-era Madonna or the modern Justin Timberlake-collaborating Madge. We'd be asking whether we'd just come from watching "The Simpsons" the new TV show, or "The Simpsons" the new movie. We wouldn't know whether Pat Buchanan and Rush Limbaugh were prominent conservative figures, or if Rush Limbaugh and Pat Buchanan were prominent conservative figures. We wouldn't have any clue if were on the cusp of a possible Clinton presidency, or if we were on the cusp of a possible Clinton presidency.
Good God, when did this country stop progressing?! ::sigh:: Someone get me a Crystal Pepsi.
