Video: 'The only boy who could ever teach tolerance, was the son of a preacher man'

by Jeremy Hooper

Heterosexual filmmakers C Reed and Mark Neely have put together a documentary called Preacher's Sons, in which they follow a gay couple (one of whom is a minister) and the five "at-risk" boys that they have adopted. Here are two preview clips:

So it's sort of like "The Brady Bunch," except a version wherein Robert Reed was free to be with the gender that he truly wanted. Not that Florence Henderson wasn't lovely, but everyone now knows that it was more likely Sam the Butcher that got Mike Brady's wheels a-spinnin'. But yea, just like the Bradys' story, this is a portrait of a wholesome family whose brood has been brought to life by the joys of adoption. And if America learned to love the uber-annoying Jan, then perhaps they will come to love this non-whiny man/man-headed home in due time. Cross your bell-bottoms.

The documentary is scheduled to be completed this fall, so keep an eye out for more info. While you're waiting for "the gay Bradys," you can enjoy these "campy Bradys" instead:
