Contrada's apple falls WAY far from the tree?

by Jeremy Hooper

Picture 10-51We've told you about Amy Contrada on several occasions. She, along with Brian Camenker, form the visible portion of MassResistance, the extremely anti-gay fringe group that works day and night to sweep the gay-friendliness out of the Bay State. To Amy, pro-gay equals insidious, and she has made quite a name for herself due to her tireless work condemning the LGBT community.

Well, proving that God does love the gay community (despite what MassResistance may think), an amazing bit of irony is now being alleged about Amy and her progeny. That is: Her daughter is said to appearing in a production of The Laramie Project at a local high school. And not just any production of the pro-gay play, but the very production that Amy and Brian have been protesting on their website for weeks.

Queer Today has the scoop:

Anti-gay Zealot's Daughter to Star in Laramie Project [QueerToday]

So far, nobody has yet to 100% confirm that the girl in the play, Claudia Contrada, is in fact Amy's daughter. Though adding fuel to the supposition, we do hear rumors that someone recently went to the box office requesting "two tickets for that rotten piece of homo-fascist propaganda, the likes of which militant gay radicals use to brainwash impressionable children into accepting their society-destroying, anti-Christian agenda. On the aisle, if you have it."

Break a leg, Claudia.

**UPDATE, 10/1: MassResistance has responded to the questions regarding the disconnect between the mother's protests and the daughter's acting. But f course, as per usual, they have twisted the situation to make it seem like a "disgusting attempt to traumatize family." They even take a random person's comment on the Queer Tiday blog and make it sound as if the bloggers themselves wrote the words.

Read both MassResistance's response, as well as Queer Today's response to the response.

Your thoughts

This should be interesting. If I were an anti-gay fanatic with a daughter in what I saw as a pro-gay-indoctrination play, I may be tempted to use the chance for some sabotage - instructing that daughter to act the part all through production, but then to wait until the last minute and use her time on stage to deliver an anti-gay speech.

I wonder if the same idea will occur to Contrada.
