Lewis apologizes to gays; illiterates still waiting
In response to the brouhaha over his apparent use of the term " illiterate f*g" during his Labor Day telethon. Jerry Lewis has issued the following apology:
"I obviously made a bad choice of words. Everyone who knows me understands that I hold no prejudices in this regard," ..."The success of the (telethon) and all the good that will come from it shouldn't be lost because of one unfortunate word. I accept responsibility for what I said. There are no excuses. I am sorry."
So now young gays can return to thinking of the the 81-year-old Lewis in the way they did before this all happened: "Who?"

Your thoughts
Actually its kind of refreshing to hear someone simply say "There are no excuses. I am sorry". When I compare this to some of the BS apologies I have heard from some of the other people who have stepped on their tongue lately, I'd have to say Jerry Lewis gets it.
