Wherein we launch a 'pro-family' proofreading service

by Jeremy Hooper

In a piece he posted today on the Family Research Council's blog, Tony Perkins does as so many of his conservative cronies have done and condemns the Folsom Street Fair for using The Last Supper as the basis for their promotional materials. However, it is only this final passage from the piece that we care to address:

Picture 11-49

We just want to say:

"Uhm, Tony -- we do not at all consider the Catholic League president to be a friend. In fact, we consider him to be among the most knee-jerked of the reactionary team. We honestly sometimes think he physically needs to go on TV shows and scream like a banshee about gays and liberals in order to sustain his life. However, despite our lack of affection for the dude's ways and means, we do know that his name is spelled Bill Donohue. With an "o."

Also, "a boycott of sponsored by Miller Brewing that is a sponsor of the event" is atrocious syntax.

Furthermore, "trademark" is actually one word, not two.

Now, we know that you probably didn't write this yourself, Mr. Perkins. However, your name
is signed to the bottom. That being the case, we thought you might want to make some corrections. Put your best foot forward, and all that jazz. After all, you spend enough time confusing your readers about the lives and goals of the gay community; we wouldn't want your politically opportunistic misconstructions to be hampered by your unintentional ones."

Your thoughts

I love the implication in his last sentence that he just can't stop drinking Miller. It would explain many things.
