Wherein TVC complies with gay wishes
So remember yesterday when we caught the Traditional Values Coalition using an image for their anti-gay campaigns that they had lifted without the permission of the pro-gay photographer? Well, we're happy to report that the organization has responded to our calls and changed all instances of that image (both current and past) to feature this person instead:
It's still just as offensive that they are using this approach to condemning ENDA. But just in terms of the image usage, we're going to assume that they do have permission from the photographer of this image to use it in their campaigns (until we find out otherwise).
As for us -- well, emboldened by the way we can get our opposition to change a picture that they have created for their readership, we have decided to now raise a stink about the narrow portrait of normalcy that they have been propagated for years. And considering that they are not the artisans of the world and all of its inhabitants, we are going to ask them to consider for just one second that maybe, just maybe, they do not hold the copyright to normalcy or morality!
Article with the new image: ENDA Vote: House Education & Labor Committee Members [TVC]
**EARLIER: TVC to followers: Let's 'drag' down ENDA! [G-A-Y]
**UPDATE: On second thought, maybe they don't have permission to be using this one either. We have found the original image on this blog. We are in the process of verifying that the image belongs to the blog's gay writer; stay tuned.
Your thoughts
Maybe the button should read "Beware EDNA" not ENDA.
Since it election season, it seems that demonization is also a republican strategy, I am already tired of their junk mail. I guess if you have nothing to say just put down or mock your opposition.
