Great annotation. But you missed one.

"other liberal organizations" cosisted (entirely, I think) of Log Cabin Republicans and their educational affiliate.

Also, "engage in homosexual conduct" won't get you kicked out (ask Matt Sanchez). Simply identifying as gay will.

I bet if you looked at Barber's little anecdote we'd find that there was no solicitation going on. Instead it was probably just some poor gay kid who whas "investigated" and kicked out. And if so, I do agree with Barber that the "thorough investigation" was a "total waste of time and resources".
