What happens in this post, stays in this post

226273367 10651E506EIs the land of gambling and quickie weddings making an active push to court the gay traveler? Yes, according to the Wall Street Journal, who is today running a piece on the changing face of Vegas tourism:

Las Vegas Goes All Out To Attract Gay Travelers [WSJ]

It does make sense, considering our opposition has been placing us in "sin" city for years. Though we have to say, we've never felt particularly unwanted in the desert town. Opulent entertainment. Free booze. Showgirls performing in drag so over-the-top, they makes Lady Bunny seem like a schoolmarm. Siegfried & Roy. If they've been catering only to midwestern hausfraus and straight frat boys, then they sure could've fooled us!

Now if only they'd let gays make the same drunken marriage mistake that so many heterosexuals have made over the years. ::sigh:: Maybe someday, lesbian version of Britney Spears. Maybe someday.

Your thoughts

Have you seen how FAT the Lady Bunny has gotten? I mean she has always been big, but now she is the size of a refrigerator and everything in it...Answer the phone...Jenny's calling..

I love it when tourists visit Vegas. They donate heavily to the casinos and we don't have to pay state income taxes.

If you come here avoid the strip at all costs. It's overpriced and way overcrowded. Rio, near the strip has lots of cute staff and Chippendales which mainly attracts inebriated soon-to-be-ex-wives from from Omaha and Mobile. Try suburban casinos like Suncoast or Red Rocks and take the shuttle to the strip.

Don't miss the Valley of Fire, an hour north on US 15.

The local paper is QVegas at www.qvegas.com.
