Spurned student gets 'sorry'
According to the Student Press Law Center, Ann Sincock, the principal of New York's Spencer-Van Etten High School, has apologized to 16-year-old student Heathyre Farnham for recently sending her home for wearing a shirt that read "Gay? Fine by me":

News to which the typical American high school student responded, "Her name's Sincock. Huh huh."
Your thoughts
This is where I think things get a bit tricky. Personally I think its great the peers show support of their GLBT peers.
However I think this is also a free speech issue and if so shouldn't that free speech be a two way street - so where's the apology for the students who get expelled for wearing shirts that aren't pro-gay?

Alonzo: There is absolutely no comparison. The shirts to which you link were condemnatory (Sodomy is a sin) and show Biblical quotes.
I do agree that we have to be careful when dealing with freedom in speech/expression in terms of our opposition. Condemnations, however, should never be acceptable in public schools.

A shirt that says "Sodomy is a sin" could be considered offense to a GLBT student and that's the reason why it shouldn't be allowed in school which I do agree with.
But couldn't the same arguement be used if a student is offend by a t-shirt that is "pro-gay" because that message would be offensive too that student’s faith?

Absolutely, if it said something like "Christian faith is a sin."
