Bikey dykeys retain right to self-identify
It's time to celebrate, fans of vehicle-based groups that turn a slur into a positive. The "Dykes on Bikes" motorcycle club on Monday retained the right to use their name when the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a challenge that was being posed to the terms usage:
'Dykes on Bikes' trademark OKd - challenger rebuffed by high court [SFGate]
No word on where the Butches on Crutches, Femmes on Rims, Queers on Steers, or Bush Hogs on Bush Hogs organizations stand with their own moniker-using rights. But we promise to keep you posted, Readers on Seaters.
