Don't Deny He/He, Argentina
Two gay men who, due to one partner's dual citizenship, were able to legally marry in Spain are now planning to try and have their marriage recognized in their home country of Argentina:

Ah, being gay! A life wherein you need one of those travel adapter things in order to plug into the world's various systems of marriage recognition. One in which you have to check the exchange rate between various countries' rights distribution systems before you know if your partner will or will not be treated like a legal stranger. It's just so f***ng annoying!
But best of luck, boys. Perhaps your efforts will be a passport towards global standardization.
Your thoughts
Why does the article and everyone else keep saying that this marriage was possible because one of the men had German citizenship? What does that have to do with it? Germany does not have same sex marriage reciprocity with Spain and the EU doesn't require them to.
The men were able to marry in Spain because ANY two adult, unrelated people of any gender pairing can marry in Spain. Spain has no citizenship requirement (Spanish, EU or otherwise) to qualify for legal marriage. The men could have been from Jamaica and Nigeria and they still would have been able to marry.
