Video: Street preaching: Where rational discussion is a literal impossibility
"You don't HAVE to be homosexual to be hellbound." Hear that and more brilliance from yet another sandwich board-adorned, self-appointed prophet:
It's funny how when he says the above-quoted line about "sinners" other than gays also possibly being hellbound, it almost sounds like he's trying to convince people. It's as if he's saying: "Really, I'm serious. It's true. It's not just the evil gays. While they are the default passengers on the train to the lake of fire, 'normal' people can meet the Devil as well. Honestly. I know you might be confused since we evangelicals are, frankly, obsessed with gays. But there's other stuff in the bible that we can interpret and use against heterosexuals too!"
Oh, and when we say it's funny that he thinks this way, we don't mean funny "ha, ha." We're thinking more like "funny in the frighteningly myopic way that forces one to shake their head and chuckle so as to not weep at how cruel some can be to their fellow humans."

**Part 2 after the jump:
Your thoughts
“You don’t have to be a homosexual to be hellbound. You can just be selfish. You can just be a selfish person to be hellbound. And the root of all sin is selfishness. Wanting to please yourself. Considering yourself above others. Considering yourself above God’s interests. That’s selfishness. That’s the root of all sin.”

Wherefore-out-then doth the “sin” of projection come into play?
"psychological projection (or projection bias) is a defense mechanism in which one attributes to others one’s own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts or/and emotions. Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted subconscious impulses/desires without letting the ego recognize them."

Well, good show man. You are officially not selfish, nor an unrepentant sinner, nor I’m sure, a homosexual.

I totally recognize this guy; I saw him when I was schmoozing on the Brickyard in between classes (the "Brickyard" being at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina). I recall offering to buy him some coffee or something since it was cold that day and he said no (lol). He didn't really attract much attention that day, ESPECIALLY compared to others that we at NC State have encountered in the past four years or so. For example, Micah Armstrong made a one-day appearance at State in August of last year which was notorious enough to earn him a front-page spread in our school paper. And Gary Birdsong a.k.a. "Preacher Gary"--believe me when I say you have not seen CRAZY 'til you've seen HIM. :p
oh and your blog is one of the ONLY two that I read and keep up with EVERY single day. Your articles are very incisive, witty, and very well thought-out, but I always manage to come across something that makes me giggle myself silly as well.
