What you didn't learn in history class
Like gays? Like bars? Like history? Well we have a treat for you, booze-loving queer archivists. For we have just been tipped off to a very thorough history of gay bars in NYC, the likes of which will have you spanning the decades via overpriced cocktails, disco anthems, and barroom gossip. Check it out:
History of Gay Bars in New York City [HOGB]
As for the history of barring gays -- well, just turn to any page in your standard U.S. History book to study a time in which that concept was alive and well. Hopefully, however, the notion of inequality will soon be as much of a faded memory as Steve Rubell's heyday.
