AFA: Ford remaining coy because gays are scary

200803131028-1 Since the AFA began claiming that they have "won" in their boycott against Ford, we have written many at the "pro-family" group to ask why they are congratulating themselves despite Ford's public declaration that none of their policies have changed. Nobody at the AFA has felt it worth their time to get back to us.

However, one of our readers who wrote in a more vague manner as to where they stand in this so-called "culture war" was able to get a response back from the AFA. Oh, and it's a doozy:

We have seen the message. Ford will never formalls [sic] acknowledge the effect that we have had on them. They would be absolutely bashed by the gays and lesbians. They are walking a tight rope. I would not want to be in their position.

So that's the line the AFA is taking. Even though THEY have been "bashing" the automaker for over two years by waging their boycott, WE are the ones who are painted as the extremists in need of appeasement. And even though the AFA has yet to cite EVEN ONE gain that they have made in all this, they are still claiming that Ford is the one who's being coy about this matter. And rather than just come out and say, "We won X and X and X," they are purposely leaving it vague so that they can act like there are private victories that are known only to Ford and the AFA (even though there is not even one shred of evidence to that fact).

Look, the AFA is not a shy group. If they truly had won something big, they would not be employing discretion here. It would make absolutely no sense for them to do so, since the sole purpose of their boycott was to make the automaker less gay-friendly. So we are again calling their bluff and challenging the group to tell us what, exactly, they have won. They are essentially at this point calling Ford executives liars, which is a very serious claim. Now they need to either back up those claims with actual, tangible facts, or they need to stop bearing false witness!!
