Poll: NYers see transgenders as part of their Empire
The good folks at the Empire State Pride Agenda have just released a poll (pdf) finding that a whopping 78% of registered New York voters support GENDA, a trans-inclusive non-discrimination bill. Head over to the ESPA's blog for the data:
Poll: New Yorkers overwhelmingly support GENDA [The Agenda]
It remains to be seen if state lawmakers will listen to the will of the vast majority of their constituents (from all parties and all parts of the state) and FINALLY pass this inclusive measure. That of course very much depends on which minority they value more: The ones who face real and life-changing discrimination every day, or the ones whose non-concern keeps such bias alive and (un)well.
