Fortunately I look good in red
In a post she has written against myself and several of my fellow online gay writers, anti-gay activist Stacy Harp chose to doctor my image so that it appears like this:
Glad to see we're keeping discourse at the height of sophistication, Stace!
Imagine if the Homosexual Activists Could Be Silent on the Day of Silence [Blog for Books]
**UPDATE: In an email exchange with Harp, I have learned that she did this because she thought I had mocked up her image when I posted about her the other day. However, I did not. Contrary to what she may think, I know very little about Stacy. In fact, I've only written about her one other time, many months ago. So when I wrote about her the other day, I needed a picture, but (a) didn't really even know what she looked like or (b) already have a head shot that I could use. On her site at the time was this video. So I merely took a screen cap from that vid. There was no deliberate image manipulation -- it was just a snapshot from the video clip.
She can totally make me look devilish if she wants. But false accusations are another story.
Your thoughts
"she thought I had mocked up her image when I posted about her the other day."

So...what then? She didn't recognize her own photo?

I just don't think she was happy with it, Emproph.
I actually thought it was kind of cute. She had this sort of sly smile that fit the attitude of the audio that accompanied it.

On the plus side, the red of your face really brings out the blue of your eyes...
...and I can't believe I just said that!
I blame your blog, it making me gay(er).

I know, right? They're absolutely sparkling! I might have to go as the Devil, Clifford, or a red M&M next Halloween.

Warhol would be proud!
Posted by: eschewv | Apr 25, 2008 10:06:41 AM
Well that was actually my first though, eschewy. I thought she had seen the picture of Matt Barber that I used in the previous post and thought I was trying to make him look "demonic," when in reality I was just give a "pop art" sort of vibe to his head shot. So I thought she was lashing out against that. I never for the life of me thought she took my image of her as offensive!
Oh well -- whatever.

FYI: In a subsequent email, she did suggest that I had mocked up the Matt Barber pic as a way to make him look bad.

Sorry, can't resist... and probably look good out of it too.

She was probably just hoping that the demonic imagery would get you to mention her again to bolster her web traffic.
Did you know (I just found this out from her website) that if you need consulting on just about anything, she's your gal. And at 75 dollars and hour - such a deal. Sounds like she'll do just about anything for 75 bucks an hour - maybe even help you to get that red out of your face!

Hey, Jeremy,
You are still a handsome "devil" in red - so that's fine - too bad she doesn't realize that her natural look is "batsh*t crazy" - - sorry, that's how she came across to me the other day - but I didn't mention it at that time. She can't do this to "our" Jeremy and not expect some comment. As always, thanks for your great blog.

Well it is only fair to note that in the emails we have been exchanging this morning, she has been cordial. And as she's learned more about me and my views, her frankness has grown.
Honestly, I think she was in attack mode, and therefore interpreted the pic I used of her and the "pop art" one I used of Matt as me wanting to demean their appearance. While again, I fully admit that I thought the pic of her looked cute and silly, making a negative comment about her looks was never my intent.

Blow the pic up, frame it, and hang it on the wall.

I tried to ask her a question through email and she said she didn't have time to write email and I was to visit her on some sort of google chat (I'm sure to do a rant sound bite). She then proceeded to write away at me in about 4 more emails.....never answering any questions. She is in her little twisted world.
Oh, and Jeremy, when getting a tan, stick with 10 minutes at first...you seem to burn too fast.

I think you look like a muppet in red. And everyone loves muppets. Looking like that I might expect you to break into song about the letter "G"....

I think many of us warned you not to get too much sun on that vacation...
Posted by: zortnac | Apr 25, 2008 12:27:55 PM
While I'm surprised that she didn't use pink, I'm disturbed by the similarity between her photo-manipulation and actual photos of the orange spray tan NJ boys attending prom that are all over the net. Too bad there's no day without a spraytan; that would really upset the world. From her blog, it sounds like she's just jealous that the mosexual's blogs are better written than hers.

Warhol was the first thing that came to mind as well! LOL
Actually you should ask Stacy to make 3 more, of different colors (blue, yellow, etc), and it would make a pretty cool collage!

wow jeremy that vacation really tanned you up
Posted by: queerunity | Apr 25, 2008 8:58:18 PM
Wait, what do you mean you only wrote about her once a few months ago? Do you not remember Stacy? She hosted a radio show called the Right View where her guest claimed that the new trend for gays was sex with infants.....

Yea Joe, that's the one time I'm talking about. I guess it was longer than a few months ago. Time flies when you're having fun.

i'd love it if ugly bitches like Stacey Harp could be quiet about THEIR agenda for one day, too. Going through her blog I realise that when mentioning the murder of Jesse Dirkhising she refers to his killers as "wicked homosexuals", but makes no judgement on the homophobic, presumedly straight killer of Lawrence King.
But you shouldn't tan, you might get skin cancer.
Posted by: | Apr 26, 2008 6:44:23 AM
Anon: There's absolutely no reason for language like "ugly bitches."

G-A-Y, thought you'd find interest in this blog which mentions this post (our friend Kevin Kaatz):

I too find it hilarious that she doesn't recognize her own un-doctored picture. Goes to show how low self esteem she has, and probably never even looks in the mirror.
Posted by: Scott | Apr 26, 2008 10:26:22 AM
She mentions you again

Yea, anon, Stacy and I have exchanged emails regarding her latest post. For the most part I'm okay with it. The only part I took exception to was when she said she only gave consent to one person to post the phone call between herself and Joe Brummer, implying that I was out of line to repost it here on G-A-Y. I found the phone call on a public mp3 site, wherein one was encouraged to take the call viral:
http://boomp3.com/listen/cfia0uj/harp-phonecall
How it got there, I don't know. However, when audio is on a public mp3 site like this, "consent" is not really needed.
I told her as much and she seemed to be in agreement (even if she hasn;t altered the post any).
