Geez, can't these folks be truthful about ANYTHING?
In a new "Action Alert" decrying McDonald's and one of the company's executives, Richard Ellis, for supporting the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the kids at the American Family Association begin with the little blip:
Only problem (other than the disgisting bias in general)? Well, the quote attributed to Jim Skinner was made way back in May of 2007, well before the McDonald's/NGLCC partnership was even on the table (at least publicly). His words had nothing to do with gays or gay rights. Here, this is what a June 1 entry on Mickey D's official Corporate Responsibility blog had to say about the comments Skinner had made a week earlier:
Then our CEO, Jim Skinner, summarized the year's terrific financial performance and reviewed the key strategies for the future.
Jim finished with some very inspirational remarks, not about the return on assets, but about the returns generated from trust:
"Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are.
We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world...and we do.
I hope you are as proud as I am that McDonald's is recognized for our efforts around employee training and opportunity, animal welfare, food safety, charitable giving, ethics, balanced active lifestyles, and responsible purchasing.
In fact, McDonald's has received more than 60 awards for corporate responsibility and environmental leadership in the past 10 years...and we are on Fortune's List of Most Admired Companies.
McDonald's is a company that walks the talk...and we intend to walk faster and talk louder as we continue to build on our track record of corporate responsibility."
But since the AFA seems to have a "details, schmetails" policy of corporate responsibility, they've just gone ahead and made it sound like Mr. Skinner had made these comments specifically about NGLCC. And why wouldn't they? Who's going to check this sort of thing?
Well, we're checking AFA. And we will keep highlighting every such instance, big or small. Because to be perfectly honest, the willingness with which your organization misrepresents words, situations, and "agendas" is absolutely startling. And if you have no scruples about pulling one's words out of context so that they are more convenient for you, why should anyone trust anything that comes from your peculiarly queer-hostile mouths?

McDonald's CEO: Company will put full resources behind gay agenda [AFA]
**It should be noted that there would've been nothing wrong if Skinner had been talking about the NGLCC partnership. Helping gays reach their peace is certainly part of the spectrum of making a positive difference.
Your thoughts
Of course they're gonna lie about everything. Their ringleader, that hysterical old coot Don Wildmon, believes Mighty Mouse does cocaine. That should tell you everything you need to know about AFA to begin with.

Geez. Usually their claims are somewhere within a far off glimpse of the truth.
But this is just a flat out lie.

The GoodAsYou.org website is coming together nicely! You're right not to let up on Wildman Wildmon, he's a vicious beast slobbering at the mouth, foaming and snorting to make his way up through the crowded field of attack dogs, like Peter La"Barbie"ra made a better, more profitable career with the other "ladies" over at Concerned Women for America, while they all hang on to their privately owned, male sex-obsessed porno mills.
