Your thoughts

I just sent a very nice (no, really!) note to the Obama campaign after receiving a request for a donation telling them how excited I was at the prospect of his historic presidency and how I think he is absolutely the best candidate, but I can't give them any money right now because of the senator's recent "one man, one woman" comments. I let them know that when their candidate chooses to stop acting in a discriminating manner toward me, I would gladly offer financial support.

Since Obama still says that marriage should be between one man and one woman.....many are having second thought. Here are some of Patrick's from PHB... this started a 125 comment thread theres.... although really only 100 cuz the troll Locke was there. Not saying this is my point of view but if you want to spice up this section, even after that 'fine' video... Here is another point of vew.
Maybe Senator Obama doesn't believe that LGBT Americans deserve equal protections. Maybe he doesn't understand how the CA Supreme Court applied equal protection considerations to same-sex couples in their decision.

Maybe...but I doubt it.

I am not willing to play this shell game anymore with politicians. They - Obama / McCain and the parties they represent - can participate in all of the political football tossing they want as they manipulate and spin their way into the Presidency.

I'm withholding my support for them and instead I'm going to back my own interests - my "equal citizenship" is far too valuable to me to allow any politician to fool with. I'm taking this seriously.

If I can't trust Obama to understand what is at stake in California and do the right thing with all of the historical and intellectual perspective he brings to this election - then why would I believe for one moment that he will act on my behalf on an array of issues once he is elected?

The buck stops here. What side of the line are you on, Obama: equal protections or majority rule?

OK my real take is that this is pretty good. Especially using clips over time. I happen to have lived in Springfield, ILL He is on steps of Old Statehouse, immedicately in front left of him just out of crowd pic to left is building with Lincoln's law office... just as he left it! Loved visiting it.
I really loved the clip from the 2004 Convention that's where a lot of said.... "Who is that guy?" What's his name again? .... now we know.. and hopefully we also know just where he is moving to in January!
