Well, tequila has certainly led to weddings before

by Jeremy Hooper

Picture 10-79We've been going about it all wrong. All this time that we've been tackling right-wing rhetoric, attending rallies, raising funds, getting arrested, braving uncomfortable situations, and genuinely pouring blood, sweat, and tears into this so-called "culture war," we really should have been starring in not one but two garish seasons of reality TV. For it's not the Elaine Nobles, Harvey Milks, Sylvia Riveras, Tim Gills, and Barney Franks of the world who have led us to the day when marriage equality is on the inevitable horizon. No, no -- it's the Tila Tequilas.

This from US Weekly:

MTV reality queen Tila Tequila says she played a part in California recently dropping its ban on gay marriage.

"It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement," she told Usmagazine.com at the Hollywood premiere of The Love Guru on Wednesday.

"Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships]," she said. "Then they realized, 'Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.' The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal."

Be sure to look for future US Weekly stories, where Lauren Conrad will reportedly reveal plans to overturn "Dont Ask Don't Tell" via cat fights with Heidi and Audrina.

Ewww...it's people like her that are setting back how people view same-sex relationships.

Tila Tequila is a Rupert Murdoch-owned joke. Makes a mockery of both women's and GLBT rights.

...I've never even heard of this woman before, and she's the one that has set the stage for equal marriage?
