Apparent army threats: Gunfire, land mines, and 'Pelosi-type-liberals'

by Jeremy Hooper

Matt Barber may have taken his "concerns" elsewhere. However, his flair for hyperbole and his tactic of using San Francisco politicians and values to serve as code-wording for "evil" still seem to be permeating the halls of the Concerned Women For America. Check out this little blip from a piece CWA staffer Shari Rendall has written about "Don't Ask Don't Tell":

The homosexual agenda is fully incompatible with military service. The mission of our military is to fight and win our nation’s wars. Our military must, at all costs, be prepared to accomplish this goal to protect our national sovereignty. We simply cannot allow our military to be hijacked by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California)-type liberals in order to become one their social experiments! This is particularly true at a time while this country is at war in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

200807211646Wow, "Nancy Pelosi (D California)-type liberals"? So wait, is that the same as the ever-popular "San Francisco values," or does this version also include an attack on the "radical" idea that women can and should hold glass ceiling-shattering positions of historical prominence? ::sigh:: We simply must learn the scale of gradience by which these CWA folks incorporate the Bay Area and all it stands for into their assaults on fair-mindedness!!

Though personally we're forever waiting for the day when they accuse Christianity of being attacked by "Rice-a-Roni (D-inner)-type side dishes."

“I Don’t Know, But I’ve Been Told” Gays to Serve in the U.S. Military? [CWA]

*RELATED: Earlier this month, TVC's Andrea Lafferty took a very similar "San Francisco values" stance against military fairness.

*RELATED2: For but one example of how Matt Barber used the Bay Area connection during his time at CWA, read his post-Cali marriage equality press release in which he referred to children of married gays as "guinea pigs in radical San Francisco-style social experimentation." OR back in 2007, when he, just like Shari, called military fairness a "radical San Francisco-style social experimentation."

Your thoughts

...but I suppose it's OK to be forced by Jesse Helms-type conservatives to live in a society where gay people are ignored, mocked, marginalized, infected, beaten, disparaged, abandoned, slandered (yet secretly envied...?) in a social experiment to create a world where the reality of millenia of natural human and animal homosexual behavior is denied and repressed causing nothing but pain and separation from all that is good about being alive? I reject that argument, but then of course, I have a brain, which I use.

I FINALLY figured out why the members of the CWA are so adamant about keeping DADT alive!!!

They are afraid that if DADT is repealed they will loose their military husbands to teh gays!!!

I can hear it now...."Honey, I have to go on weekend "maneuvers" with Troy....." LOL!!!!

My brother is in the Army, and has been over in Afghanistan, and we have talked about this issue. His take is that most people know who is gay or not, it doesn’t matter to most of the people over there. He said that the training is meant to make a cohesive unit, and it does, so the only thing he worried about anyone, gay or straight, was if they were a good soldier.

Hasn't the mission been accomplished, anyway?
