Goeke: The church needs to 'P' on gays even more
In a new Baptist Press commentary, Mike Goeke, a self-professed "ex-gay" who formerly served as Executive Vice President of the Exodus International organization, has laid out four "P"s that he thinks churches need to follow when "dealing" with gays:
PASTOR - "the senior pastor must have a heart for reaching all hurting people, no matter the potential controversy."
PULPIT - "Sexual brokenness affects the church on many levels. Divorce, adultery, pornography, promiscuity and homosexual behavior are as prevalent within the church as they are in the world. The effectiveness of the local church will continue to be diminished if these hard issues are not discussed from the pulpit."
PEW - "Until the church body has a heart for hurting, lonely, broken, lost people in general, the church will never be part of the solution."
POTLUCK - "This refers to the community and fellowship of the church body."
We, however, have 10 more "p" words that provide a far simpler path people of faith could use to open their hearts and minds to the LGBT community:
PUT PASSÉ, PREDATORY, PRESUMPTIVE, PERSONAL PRAYER-BASED PERSECUTION and PREJUDGEMENT to PASTURE, PRONTO!

The anti-gay 'exgay' industry is desperately trying to keep churches on board with it. They've lost the general public, and now they're afraid of losing the church-going public and conservatives, a process which has already begun with the rise of the religious left and the Bob Barr's of politics.

My contribution didn't have a P in it (I'm slow).
How about PUS. Now there's a word that doesn't get used enough.
All their talk about healing gays is really a lot of PUS.

LOL!! That was a good one!
And Peter DOES remind me of the guy you see in a gay porno, hidden behind a tree or corner, playing with himself as he spies on the "star" couple going at it.
And then of course he returns to the fundies, to inform everyone of the deviant homosexual activity he just watched with his own eyes.
