Mass Rep: House will open doors to non-native nups-cravers
The Victory Fund's Gay Politics blog is passing on word from openly gay State Rep. Carl Sciortino, who has expressed great confidence that the Massachusetts House will this week (perhaps even today) join their friends in the Senate in passing a repeal of the 1913 marriage-limiting law:
Sciortino projects repeal of discriminatory Massachusetts law [Gay Politics]
And of course if Sciortino is right, then that means the bill would head to Gov. Patrick, who's announced not only an intent to sign it, but an enthusiastic desire to do so. It also means that local social conservatives might, quite possibly, sh*t a literal brick, as they curl into the fetal position and chant "Vegas of gay marriage, Vegas of gay marriage" over and over again.
Un-banded ring fingers crossed.

when? when? when? my partner and I will be in P-town Aug11-17. It's conceivable we could do it legally that week! get to the courthouse tuesday morning, wait the three days, and go to a JP on friday or saturday!

I think it's still gonna be CA, actually. We've found a place we really like.
It will, however, be reassuring to have more options.

I have been reading the stories in the Wedding Registry on HRC, where you can donate to EQ CA via one of them. Wonderful stories. George Takei and Brad Altman lead the list, but we know their story.
Great one about two men together 25 years, Raised daughter, walked her down the aisle in 2000... and she walked them down in June! LOVE IT!
Congratulations again... to all who are engaged and will be married... whenever.
