Mickey D's presser: Tens and tens served

by Jeremy Hooper

So how did yesterday's anti-gay McDonald's presser go? Well the first video has come in, and it looks really...small. And diversity-free. And boring. And Matt Barber-laden.

Check it out:

Hmm, this reminds me: McDonald's has yummy caramel iced coffee. Be right back...

**Oh, and FYI: The McDonald's stock is up again today.

Your thoughts

Matt Barber certainly is a wide fellow. Perhaps he was so quick to contribute his largesse of personality to this cause because, for him it serves a dual purpose?

That's just pathetic. The best had to be when that woman in the green jacket turned and left and didn't come back! :)

so how many people attended this press conference? 10? 20? wow, that's gonna take a big bite out of McD's profits.

just check out the bear in the grey suit and aqua shirt, i'll bet he's on the downlo -- doesn't he just look it?

LOL. That's Matt Barber, the queen.

For all things Barber-related:

Ha -- I just realized how the above comment came out. I didn't mean to say Matt Barber is a queen -- I was referring to the commenter's name, "the queen.

Maybe the homophobic reggae Straight Pride march in Brooklyn on Aug. 31 will go just as poorly.

Jeremy. I thought it was hilarious that you did call Matt a queen, even it was by accident. lol.

I disagree about the non-diversity(ness) of this Million-Pound March. I see a woman in a walker, morbidly obese people, children staked in place so they can't fidget, the fashion challenged, and several sets of disembodied legs that keep walking behind the sign, all hosted by a low-talking contortionist who seems to be able to button his gobble into his own shirt. Sounds like a frickin' rainbow coalition, if ya ask me.

BTW, did you see Mr. LaBarbera's McRainbow Ronald on his site? Get it? Ronald? GAYS..RAINBOW?!!!? How vivid!

Posted by: Sykler | Jul 17, 2008 5:22:38 PM

LOL, Sam

I kept hoping to see two guys sneak up behind the podium and start making out in front of the "crowd" for the duration of the speech. That would be have been great!

Posted by: Jake | Jul 17, 2008 6:29:33 PM

Hey, aren't we the ones who don't care about children?

Thanks for bringing up the iced coffee! I hate hate hate Starbuck's with a passion. I'll go anywhere else for a coffee run, including McDonald's. *There's* my counter-boycott!

Matt Barber?! Holy cow, try Fatt Barber! Been eating to much holy bread there big boy?!

People are not going to give up the things they like because a group of people say they should. Most people have had enough of the BS and think there are more important things to worry about.

Posted by: Blondie Writes | Jul 18, 2008 7:35:00 AM

Agreed, Blondie. And just like with so many other boycotts, the AFA et al. will quietly drop the boycott once they (a) have gotten what they want out of it, and (b) realize that people just don't care.

I understand that Porky Peter was one of the speakers at the no-press conference. Wouldn't it be likely that video exists of him speaking in addition to that other guy? I would love to see and hear that pathetic pudglet in action.

BTW, who is that guy in the video?

Posted by: Richard Rush | Jul 18, 2008 11:47:03 AM

This video is pathetic and hysterical at the same time. I agree Matt does look like a "bear" and in a way I feel sorry for him. He had a normal working life until the day he started to attack gays. It was all down hill from there for him. He got fired from his nice paying job at Allstate, he had to go work for women and get bossed around by "miss wendy and beverly", now he is working for liberty counsel who fly him to these type of events. Now his whole world is about gays and thinking about us all of the time. He will spend the rest of his days obsessing about us with the likes of Porno Pete, Janet Lesbian Folger, and all the other weirdos out there who are fighting their own gay impulses. Meanwhile, his self hate is causing him to pack on the pounds and get really fat. This is just anger turned inward because he knows he is wasting his life on this topic. He also has children and he their role model and this is what they are being raised to see which is a man who can hardly provide for his family Anyway, I hope he gets help and is seeking therapy to get back to working for a living.

Ok, so is Matt Barber gay, or an ex-gay? Yes or No?

I think I heard that he used to live with, or have a roommate that was a gay in college who he was involved with.

I don't care, but I cannot get anyone to confirm this and I don't think Matt Barber would, especially since he has children now and may be married.

In any case, he speaks so much about how gays think, and act, that I assume he has the "inside" knowledge. He is a very sad man.
