Oh, the irony
The following letter, sent from the Colorado Springs headquarters of Focus on the Family, just arrived in this writer's mailbox:
Can you believe this?! How presumptive of Dr. D! I mean Andrew and I haven't even formally decided what we're going to do about our names yet: leave them the same, hyphenate them, or adopt one (though likely his, not mine, since his family is the one that's in our everyday lives). Yet here we have Dobson trying to rush us into making a decision about our marital name? It's uncouth, frankly!
Jimmy D, we know you're excited to recognize our same-sex love, and we TOTALLY don't blame you. Our family unit is pretty damn rad, if I say so myself. But ease up a little bit, brotha. Your "focus on our family name"? It's starting to seem a little overbearing!
**UPDATE: The contents of the letter: Focu$ on the fundrai$ing: Gay $lam$ $till bankable [G-A-Y]
Your thoughts
Your humerous response to the FOF mailroom machine's gaffe is totally cute!

I'm surprised your entire address isn't in warning quotes.
It's clear, Focus On The Family has caved to the Hooper Agenda!!!

Jeremy, you should redact your ZIP code as well. A 9-digit ZIP-code gives very specific location information and I doubt you want that out on the Net.

You're very right, Dan. Thanks. Done.

I love it - just like Liddy Dole, who did the same thing when her Constituent Services Letter Generator spit out a letter addressed to Kate and me.

Well was it near your first year of marriage, Pam? Maybe Liddy was just eager to honor your paper anniversary :-)
