SC: Gay man slides into home; he's 'out', not safe
An 18-year-old gay man from Anderson County, South Carolina, is claiming that when he returned to his home this past Sunday after attending a local gay pride parade, his less-than-pride-filled father proceeded to assault him with a baseball bat in order to “cast the demon of homosexuality out of him.” The Independent Mail has more on this alleged -- we repeat, alleged -- strike:

Foul! Here's just hoping the father, if guilty, doesn't add insult to injury by using the "in this economy, baseballs are just too expensive" defense!
**UPDATE: Or maybe the kid is just lying. In fact, that seems to be exactly the case:

Sigh, and I'm moving there for a job in a couple weeks.
So, what does the "demon of homosexuality" look like and what would the father have done if said demon actually leapt out of the boy's body?

It's not junk science that'll tell him he's sane when he's REALLY a lunatic, therefore, he won't get help.
The way I see it, if it comes between a gay basher and a gay person having the upper hand - better the gay person survive, than the crazy old man who still believes in fairy tales.
Gandhi won't help you when a lunatic is coming your way with a bat, knife or whatever.
And even if you don't believe in guns, there's always tasers. What better way to stop a fundie in his tracks, than to zap him to his knees, and watch him scream like a girl.
