LGBTyra

by Jeremy Hooper

On this fall's cycle of "America's Next Top Model," there will be a first in a contestant named Isis.

Picture 4-166As you can see from her lovely pic, she won't be notable because she lacks in the beauty department. She also won't gain attention because she refuses to use the word "fierce," nor will she grab the spotlight for stopping in episode one and asking, "Wait a minute, do any of these girls ever really become 'top models?". No, no -- the reason Isis will be history-making is because she'll be the first transgender person to ever grace Tyra Banks' program. Read more at link:

But that's not all. So as to not be upstaged, we hear that around episode three, the show will suddenly and unexpected be hosted by Tyrone Sperm Banks.

Nice developments all around!

Your thoughts

Transgender people have definitely been more on the air lately in a positive way. I hope this series will continue keeping it positive, as I see chances for it to be not so nice, especially other contestants raising a fuss.

Hormones are the bestest.

This makes me happier than I care to say. I may actually be watching this season.

Aesthetically unpleasant? How? Twiggy and tall has never been my thing, but she's hardly a troll under the bridge. Don't women have enough body issues without you taking potshots at them? This is the first time I've come across your website, and it will hopefully be my last. The world doesn't need another one of these nasty hate blogs, even if it "only" says nasty things about people's looks and not their gender identities.

Megan, my my friend, I think you need to reread. The post isn't calling her unpleasant -- it is saying she WON'T be notable for being aesthetically unpleasant (and even specifically states that Isis is lovely). That entire middle section is made up of things for which Isis will NOT be notable.

**UPDATE: The post has been edited to make it even more clear that we were in no way calling Isis aesthetically unpleasant. It seems silly to even have to defend this, as (a) Isis is clearly beautiful, (b) this site would never attack ANYONE on the basis of their physical appearance even if they were a "troll under the bridge," and (c) the whole point of the middle paragraph is to point out all of the things for which Isis is NOT notable. But to avoid any further misunderstandings, we have changed a few words.
