Video: Another 'nuclear' option, por favor
Dear Republicans: For just a second, can forget all other issues and take up one very important one? One that has weakened our nation for eight years. One that needs to end and needs to end now. One that is a simple matter of pronunciation that really should not require more than simple, one-time correction.
We're of course talking about the pronunciation of the world "nuclear":
It's really not that difficult. NEW-KLEE-URR. NEW-KLEE-UR. The problem seems to be the "l." But please, before any of us take to the world's stage, can we work on fixing it? Seriously. No joke.
Because don't we owe America's English teachers better than what we've been giving them?

It is pretty grating to hear them say NUK-YOU-LUR. Probably has to do with their I'll just NUKE-YOU theory of diplomacy.

There's a word for politicians that know how to pronounce the word "nuclear". They're called Democrats.

Why not just say 'atomic weapon' and avoid the whole 'nuk-you-lur'/'noo-klee-ur' debate? Of course then one has to ask, why didn't they think of this earlier? ;-)
