Where.Is.Joe?

by Jeremy Hooper

Picture 5-145Just an FYI for those readers of our gay blog buddy Joe.My.God. We just received this message from Joe Jervis himself:

Google/Blogger has marked thousands of blogs as "spam" and locked us out of our accounts. Apparently a new spambot algorithm has f***ed up majorly. Even more annoying, no one at Google/Blogger has responded to the thousands of angry and puzzled requests for help in their support forums. The Blogger status page is also silent on the issue. According to the automated notice in our Blogger dashboard, it may take days for Blogger to visit each blog and determine that it isn't actually a spam blog. The problem has apparently been growing for weeks, some people in the support forums say they remain locked out of their blogs after several weeks.

Best of luck to Joe and anyone else facing these problems. If there is one thing for which we have major sympathy it is a techno-headache like this one!

Your thoughts

Bummer. I wonder if this has anything to do with my Google Reader not working ("server error") all day.

The inordinate number of recent robot "clicks" on my blog makes me wonder what's going on. . .and my blog is really benign.

It happened to my blog, Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters, last night.

Happened to mine, too, and ironically enough, you don't get to interact with an actual human being if you'd like to complain.
