B-J King: No teeth behind Palin lip service

by Jeremy Hooper

Good As You Images Picture-5-49Billie Jean King caused a bit of a racket in the LGBT blogosphere this A.M., when The NY Observer attributed some Sarah Palin-supportive comments to the tennis legend and out lesbian. However, King is now taking the opportunity to clear the air, telling 365Gay that her quips about the "real," "awesome," and "honest" Palin should in no way be construed as support for the Alaska governor:

Last Friday, reporter from the New York Observer asked me what I thought about Sarah Palin. I told her I thought Sarah Palin was honest and real. I believe that. But, that in no way should be viewed as an endorsement of any kind. I oppose many of the positions of Sarah Palin, particularly those tied to the LGBT community. I am supporting Barack Obama and, in fact, I have lent my name to both Women for Obama and the Obama LGBT Steering and Policy Committee.

In reaction, we predict Sarah Palin will soon release the following statement:

"Eh, I like Martina better anyway. Hey, wanna hear again about the Bridge To Nowhere? No? Okay, well then if you'll excuse me, I need to go shoot a moose"

Or something like that.
