Actually, I heard on the morning radio that Ms. Ronson (whoever she might be) turned down an invitation to perform at Rubyfruit because she "doesn't do those kind of venues" (i.e., gay bars).

Or something along those lines.

Yea, Kip, and "Marky" Mark Wahlberg (big homophobe that he appeared to be) constantly played gay venues in SF back in the 90's. Go figure?? To his credit, he does appear to have grown out of that phase.

LOL Dick Mills - and speaking of which, I remember reading Marky's interview I believe from 'Entertainment Weekly' back then (in which he was grabbing his dick in just about every picture; as he was always doing in the early 90's, for whatever stupid reason) - and he said he was cool with gay people. But he did say he was uncomfortable if he didn't know them, and if they'd try to be getting all fresh or touchy-feely with him.

And I totally agree with that. If you're not given permission to touch, but you do so anyway - it's worth a slap in the face LOL

kip, that rumor has actually been dispelled by ronson's booking agent. she's playing a big old gay club (wetbar) in atlanta this weekend. check out her myspace.

Lohan Girlfriend Declines DJ Gig at Lesbian Bar
Samantha Ronson, reportedly the girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan, declined to play a DJ gig at a New York City lesbian bar. When she was asked this summer to do a benefit for the longtime West Village fixture Rubyfruit, her agent said that "she doesn't do those kind of venues," the New York Post's Page Six column reports.

According to Rubyfruit's resident DJ Stacy Ledwith, the bar approached Ronson, a well-known bicoastal DJ, to play at a benefit, but was told that she wasn't interested. "At first, her agent said it was $8,000 for the night plus airfare and hotel," Ledwith told Page Six. "Then, he was informed it was a gay and lesbian bar, we were told she doesn't do those kind of venues. She doesn't do gay and lesbian bars and clubs."

A spokesperson for Ronson, however, denied she was offered a gig in the first place. "It is not true," Ronson rep Brandon Phelps told Page Six. "I can tell you that I am the only one that runs her calendar and was never approached by Rubyfruit."

Ronson, the step-daughter of Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones, and Lohan have been in a romantic relationship for months, according to numerous press reports, though the two have not confirmed that they're dating. (The Advocate)
