Andrea Lafferty channels inner Perez Hilton

by Jeremy Hooper

Photos Uncategorized 2008 08 27 200802201058Responding to the news that Brad Pitt had donated $100,000 towards the fight to preserve marriage equality in California, the Traditional Values Coalition's Andrea Lafferty has offered up the following gossipy thoughts:

"Pitt dumped his wife, Jennifer Aniston, and has a cohabitation arrangement with Angelina Jolie,” ...“His view of marriage is skewed. Why is he so supportive of homosexual marriage?

Moviegoers may think twice about spending their dollars on Brad Pitt’s new movie with leftist George Clooney. Pitt is clearly determined to undermine traditional marriage in California – and I have no intention of using my own money to help him.

Well, we certainly know someone who's on "Team Aniston." Only problem for Andrea? She doesn't know the first thing about why The Pitt-Aniston breakup occurred, or the current state of "Brangelina"! And it's absolutely appalling that she, someone who is supposedly so focused on the family, would attack Brad Pitt's own humanitarian-minded household simply because he has taken a stand for his gay friends that doesn't jibe with her own political or world views. The tacky journey into tabloid just reeks of shamelessness.

Though we do seem to agree with Andrea on one thing: Those "leftists" Brad and George should not team up for an Oceans 14! That ship = sailed.

How long before the AFA announces a new boycott. BoycottBradPitt.com is still available!

I've been reading a lot of comments from people like Andrea since Brad Pitt donated money for true equality and what I find very telling is none of them were calling for boycotts of Brad's movies after his divorce or his current "cohabitation arrangement" with Saint Angie or their two out of wedlock children (as a matter of fact I'm sure most of them were the ones snatching up copies of People Magazine)

But now because he's chosen to take a pubic stand on equality for all Americans by supporting SSM now it's time to boycott him.

I despise these people they talk about family values but the truth of the matter is people like this don't give a DAMN about real family values.

Partial translation: Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie support all those liberal causes and dive in and get their hands dirty when they help people, and they kind of shame people like us who sit up in our ivory towers and judge people and don't help the poor unless we're allowed to catapult Bibles at their faces, and plus their kids are brown and un-American, the end.

If I were "pro-family," I think real pro-family people would shame the ever-loving hell out of me, too.

Sidenote: Is it bad that I assume that these people, just a couple inches down, are flaming racists? They correspond so well with their ancestral bigotry that it just doesn't seem a stretch to me.

Am I supposed to overlook the fact that Sen. John McCain committed adultery, dumped a wife who waited for him while he was a POW and then left three children in a single parent home all because Brad Pitt donated money to a cause he believes in? Last time I looked Brad Pitt wasn't running for president so his values are of far less importance to me than those of John McCain. When the values of Republican politicians actually become important to the value voters to whom they pander I'll be happy to consider how actors & actresses conduct their lives when choosing something as important as which movie I'll go see. Clean up your own houses before you go complaining about others.
