Very Good video. But those that are Prop 8 supporters will never agree to support the out right ban of divorce. Perhaps the far right fringed Christian groups may support it to some extent but most Christians including most of the conservative evangelical/fundamentalists will not support it.

For them the Bible still allows divorce in cases of adultery and for no other reason. Paul gives another reason BUT Paul is not Jesus. I always make sure I mention that to the Bible literalists. It drives them crazy.

Jeremy, I would love to see a petition to ban divorce in 50 states just to see what the Religious Right would say and do. If they truly want to preserve the sanctity of marriage then they need to support laws that ban divorce except in cases of adultery. But I get the feeling they will not. It would affect them directly and that is something they cannot allow if it means it will infringe on their rights and choices.

Hypocrisy? Sure. But isn't that what they are best at?

I am a retired cardiac surgeon. My 2 boys were taken (abducted) by their mother from our home without notice at midnight on 10/21/02. Despite vigerous payments to Divorce lawyers my children were successfully stolen from me by the predatory Divorce court system. The Divorce buisness is just that and wildly profits from the rotting corpse of divorced families. The Court system sucks money from the family as it "divides up the booty" all in the name of what ever is in the best interest of the child. The reality is that these predators (the lawyers et al) place the child in one home not both. If divorce was made much harder so that the children equally lived in both divorced parents homes then there would be no need for child support or more lawyers. Shakespear was right. the first thing we should do is kill all of the lawyers.

I'm a child of two divorced parents and I say no to this ban divorce bullshit. These people are turning marriage into a "police state". Divorce is not the best thing in the world, but if two people no longer love each other they should have the right to split up. What good of an influence is it going to be on the children to watch two unhappy parents living together?

This is ridiculous. It does not Protect Marriage, it does not Protect Children. This is going to make things so much worse.

If this ban divorce thing is successful I'm not getting married. I'll boycott the whole damn thing.
