'Don we now our anti-gay ass-craziness'
Some folks like wreaths. Other people enjoy mistletoe. But for the lil' Christmas cookies at Westboro Baptist Church, it's the following sign with which they hope to deck the halls of the Legislative Building of the Washington state legislature:
And we're not joking -- they have really submitted the sign for inclusion in the Washington state Legislative building's holiday display. Westboro hopes their sign will be accepted by Department of General Administration, since the state has accepted both a nativity and an atheist display.
Our only hope? That their "Rudolph the Hell Beast" ditty will be much more melodic than this one. Seriously, there's like five extra syllables in this second portion, and the "he sees you when your sleeping" surrogate comes way too late in the parodic lyrics. It's really quite a mess, this Carol/Carol-hating carol!

If anybody else wrote that, I'd think it was a spoof of religeous zealotry. Coming from them...well, given their track record, they probably actually believe it.

I'm not really surprised, but there unending creativity in expressing there bigotry and hatred is rather amazing, and don;t really find myself caring. But when watching the video I did find myself drawn to the sign of Santa as "Pagan Idol." I mean honestly, how about a little intellectual honesty (i'm sure there capable even if unable to show it, i mean the whole families a bunch of lawyers), hes not a pagan symbol (unless CocaCola is pagan), hes a symbol of consumerism. He's about as pagan and related to the devil as Jesus Christ is related to Gilgamesh. And at least the gifts Santa delivers on Christmas can be returned if unsatisfactory, with god you'll be long and dead before you can cash in on your supposed rewards.

Santa is partly pagan. He is a composite character. Saint Nicolas in German is Sankt Nikalaus, becomes Santa Claus. Chris Kringle, from the German Christ Kindle, or Christ child. His appearance is the pagan god Oden who would ride through the skies dressed in red on a chariot and judge the naughty and nice.
