From 'Mama's Family' clips to 'gays must die!' hate -- Youtube offers window to this nut-crazy world
As we all sit here on the cusp of a new year of promised "change," do you wanna see a quick reminder of how far we still have to come in this world? Well here, check out this, an actual YouTube profile:
Charming, right? And look, do you notice the kinds of publications that this "faggot sniper" uses to justify his unapologetic gay hate? Yea, that's right -- Sites like World Net Daily and the AFA's Agape Press (now rebranded as One News Now) put ammo in this potential gunman's barrel. Links that give further evidence to what we in the progressive community have always known: That there is an undeniable connection between the "nice" socially conservative "pro-family" version of queer antipathy, and the militant form that quite literally wants to "snipe" gays. There just is. It's sad, scary, and about the most un-Christian thing imaginable -- but it's also true.
Want more? Well you masochist for YouTube pain, here's another, even more insane profile that cites the exact same articles:
(potentially NSFW language; definitely Not-Safe-For-Decency language)
Blaming gays for AIDS? Presenting gays as outside the realm of normalcy? Gays are obsessed with sex? Connecting homosexuality with thinks like pedophilia? Saying gays are outside of God's plan? Just like the earlier one, this profile is obviously that of an extremist. But all of those concepts that we just mentioned are the EXACT SAME ONES that the religious right peddles on a daily basis. This YouTuber and his pro-death ilk (and there are several others you can find by linking around from this dude's friends page) have simply taken those oft-recited anti-gay memes and taken them to mean a literal queer elimination, rather than an elimination of desires through so-called "ex-gay" programs. And despite how much our "pro-family" opponents will bitch, moan, and spin: It is not at all unfair to connect these easily discernible dots!
If one is take our side's prevailing teachings to their furthest reaches, they will become advocates for a world wherein human beings are judged on their merits rather than their characteristics. However, if one is to take our opposition's to the same ends, they become likes these YouTubers: Advocates for a gun-filled yet gay-eliminated Earth. That is why the stakes are so high. That is why we can't afford to write off any voice as "fringe" or let any voice go unchallenged because of our support for their religious right to speak their mind. There is a real human cost attached to those voices, and the fallout can be deadly.
Whoa, okay -- sorry to be such a total Debbie Downer. Here, here's a much more appropriate use of YouTube to bring you back up to the gay-positive happy place:
So much cuter, our worldview.

Yes, society is a sick place. Not because of gays, but because of society's tolerance and even celebration of anti-intellectual religious (read: cult) garbage and lies that seek to control everyone's life.
And what does the Oh-So-Holy American President-elect do about it?
He chooses to place one of said cultists in a place of honor and flaunts his belief in ancient myths.
Oh yes, America is #1, alright.
#1 in hypocrisy and celebration of ancient myths, that is.

Do we know who originally put this up. This sounds like the work of the Phelps clan.
