Lean a little left, fall out of evangelical boat
Remember this morning when we told you about the evangelical outrage over Richard Cizik? Well, this comes from the AP:
WASHINGTON (AP) — A top evangelical leader has resigned his post following an uproar over a recent interview when he said he supports civil unions for gays.
The National Association of Evangelicals says the Rev. Richard Cizik (SIGH-zik) quit Thursday as the group's representative in Washington.

So wait, evangelicals: What's all that fuss you've been making about the pesky, militant, intolerant gays "forcing" people to resign?! How's that go again? Remind us, please.
Your thoughts
I listened to this interview when it aired and was struck by how intelligent and thoughtful Cizik was. It gave me new hope for the evangelical right. Of course, the evangelical right didn’t see it that way. Sigh.

Don't a lot of them also keep whining about us not just accepting civil unions? And yes I know a lot of them don't want us to have any recognition, but those aren't the ones I'm reffering to.

Well .... we didn't get to see what would happen when Dobson resigned did we? Remember young evangelicals your elders know what is best. OMG! He actually said that Evangelicals, not being Catholics condone Birth control practices..even government ones!
He was 'involved' in RR's nuclear horror speech!... He condones SSunions.. and HE is out of a job!
So let's see who we get next. Any bids on Maggie Gallagher??
