Was that John C. Reilley as the main Pro-8 supporter?

Holy hell that was wonderful. After an evening of trying to convince a couple highly confused people that I'm not, in fact, pretending to be a lesbian (wierd, I know, but sometimes people are dumb) this made me smile. Thanks :)

This is brilliant and the fact that the evangelicals are upset about makes it that much sweeter.

Sarah Chalke! They should have given her a bigger part.

I loved it! Thanks for posting it. I found the link on another gay blog site. People claiming to be "Christian" pick and choose scriptures from the Hebrew Scriptures to suit their own agenda. I am a Believer in Jesus and even rather formally educated in Biblical Theology (at the grad school level). Educated but homophobic ministers who have taken a Biblical Hermeneutics (Interpretation) as theology majors often ignore the fact that they are taught not to proof-text scriptures out of their original contexts to suit their own agenda. As a native Oklahoman, I like to say, "Sodomy? Well, that ain't in the Hebrew Bible! Sodomite? That ain't there neither."

The Movie/Play Musical "Oklahoma" was based on the Lynn Riggs' historical novel, "Green Grow the Lilacs" and apparently Riggs' Broadway Play of the same name, "Green Grow the Lilacs."

Riggs was from Claremore, my "official home town," although I was born in the little Community of Tiawah South of there. My Cherokee ancestors settled in Tiawah decades before Claremore existed.

I did some research on Lynn Riggs and he was actually openly gay, away from Claremore, at least, and was in a partnered relationship with another man.
