Video: Westboro's early Xmas gift

by Jeremy Hooper

Holly. Mistletoe. Various generations of Phelps children likening Santa to Satan. [::nostalgic sigh::] The holidays have officially arrived:

So festive, they are! Our only wish: That they'd put out a Hanukkah song as well. Don't they know that it's politically incorrect to only recognize one holiday? SHEESH!

Plus, just think of all the fun ways they could rhyme "dreidel" with "gay hell"!

Your thoughts

How sad. Where is Child Protective Services when they are needed!?

why exactly are we "going to eat our own children" i kinda missed that reason of logic.

Aren't they adorable? Evangelical Xtianism taken to its logical conclusion.

How in the hell can it be put in the head and guts of these homophobic heretics that
GOD (if there is such a thing) did not write the bible. A bunch of uneducated nut jobs tried to be scholars or what ever long after a man named jesus lived as a mortal and possibly ran around with a bunch of guys telling people to be kind to each other.
Oh the world listened alright and learned from this wanderer. In answer to his ideas they sadistically beat him to a bloody pulp and nailed him to two pieces of wood that by necessity was put at right angles to accommodate his head and torso and also his outstretched arms.
This vile death contraption is today known as a cross and is on the top of all the buildings known as churches.
Good reminder of what is done to men of peace or a holy icon that christians kneel to an mumble for forgiveness for their wicked and hateful acts.

These freaks rarely leave me speechless. This is a perfect ad for a national BAN on home-schooling. They are turning these kids into monsters, and then they'll release them on society. There has to be a law against that.

. . . I. . . Don't know whether to laugh, or to simply shake my head.

. . . THESE are the people we lost to on prop 8?

. . . Seriously?!

Normally, my tolerance of batshit crazy is pretty high, but I couldn't get half way through that.

...and how about Kwanzaa?

Ok, so this may sound silly but the one sign: "You will eat your children" does it remind anyone else of Barbara Kruger's work? Maybe I've spent to much time in modern art galleries but every time I see that particular sign it totally reminds me of her stuff. And that they are completely coocoo for cocoa puffs.

Oh. My. God.

(oops, I used His name in vain. But then again, so did they)

What an asshat.

I can totally see one of those "God Hates Fags" signs in a homophobia-themed museum in like 20 years.

ok, first of all... anyone with any religous background whatsoever, would agree that it is not man's place to judge his brother, it is God's place... also, i don't understand why people waste so much time trying to convince people that gays are so-called "agents of Satanism," because God taught us how to love, not us who taught him. Thus, gay people, such as much myself, are doing what they are programmed to do... i don't see how something so irrational and intangeable as love could be defined by something so rationally concrete as pshyical gender...especially when love, in the opinion of most, is a union shared by two, ultimately sexless souls... to act out against something with such ruthlessness, then define it as religious is absoluty absurd, and obviously they have no better reason to protest in the first place... xenophobia and ignorance seem to be co-morbid

ok, so I'm guessing that they don't believe in celebrating the secular aspects of Christmas, and perhaps take the stance that because Jesus didn't celebrate his own birthday, no one else should do so either.

Here's what I don't get: For a group of people opposed to Santa Claus and such Yuletide revelry, how is it that they know that tune so well?

Posted by: keltic | Dec 16, 2008 5:06:27 PM

Well, at least they got ONE thing right. Christmas was originally a Pagan holiday. Regardless... These people need to get fixed so that don't spawn anymore.
