YOU. HAVE. GOT. TO. BE. KIDDING. ME!

by Jeremy Hooper

Maggie Gallagher was instrumental in stripping gays of their right to marry in California. Maggie Gallagher has made a career out of being a professional anti-gay spokesperson. Since Prop 8's passage, Maggie Gallagher has gone on several shows, everywhere from CNN to Dr Phil, justifying her side's tyrannical expression of discrimination. Now, in perhaps the most egregious post-Prop 8 move yet, Maggie Gallgher's National Organization For Marriage group has launched a website where they have the AUDACITY to claim that they are "fighting back" against gays:

Picture 19-42

They are FIGHTING BACK?! THEY are FIGHTING BACK?!?! That is like the schoolyard bully claiming he is merely fighting back when he returns to the victims who he robbed of lunch money and demand that they give him crisper dollar bills so that they will more easily go into the vending machine! Except in that case, we're only talking about one particular day's lunch. Maggie and her unrighteous crew have used their religious beliefs to rob gays DELIBERATELY, CRUELLY, ANGRILY robbed gays of a much-needed, much deserved, civl -- civl, civl, did we mention CIVIL? -- right!

Now THEY are fighting back against this "new McCarthyism" (a notion offensive to anyone who suffered under TRUE McCarthyism)? Well, they can tell themselves that all they want. They can claim they are "busting a blacklist" if that helps quiet the voices in their mind that question whether their actions are truly as "moral" as they think. And they can perpetuate this lie if unscrupulous deception is something that doesn't weigh on their conscience. But they know the truth. They know the real roles here. And the way they are overplaying their "we're the victim" card, it's only a matter of time before the vast majority starts to see this crew of self-imposed moral authoritarians for the shameless and hurtful band of rights thieves that we have always know them to be!

Yet another attempt to play the 'victim' card, as that is the social conservatives' post-Prop8 meme [a.k.a. Bust the Blacklist]

**It seems who we should really be busting is the English teacher who taught these kids to pluralize:

As I had 'joined' NOM to send a letter out the other day..I got the announcement. Does that mean they will all convert to Mormonism now? Hope so. Just in case they have been too busy to read the news sent them bulletins from Iowa, NewJersy, New York and California..and a copy of the Florida decision.
It was so good of them to bring up McCarthyism...cuz we can so accuse them of doing exactly that!!

I love that she's posting addresses and maps to these businesses so that the angry mobs can find them more easily. Does anyone have any extra pitchforks and torches? I'm all out.

Would it be wrong to clog their in-boxes with reports of how we've been discriminated against and aren't going to take it lying down anymore? Their address is [email protected]

We could bombard this fascists with emails regarding businesses that are suffering under "the blacklist" but which are really gay-owned and operated, therby sending the hordes of christos there to spend money... unwittingly supporting homos!

Buycotts are really nothing new with that crowd. The biggest reason that any of them go to church is to drum up customers for their business. In my experience, contractors are quite notorious for doing that. And, for that matter, boycotts are quite common from those lying liars as well.

WHY would anyone give this obese cunt the time of day? It obviously never read its own book of shit on the sin of gluttony.

Meh.

Wow... you would think they would support McCarthyism considering it was the McCarthy Era [1954] that brought the words "under God" into the Pledge of Allegiance...

Where are the LGBT hackers out there anyway? ;)

Hey...how about we start a roomer...oops, rumor, that Maggie Gallagher is marrying Elaine Donnelly? What a pair!

I dunno Chris...the fact that you' don't take it lying down anymore' may just be TMI for Maggie and her staff...Now you've got them calling Peter to find out how you must be doing it if not that way. Thanks for the address, but I actually joined NOM...in my pseudocon hat...so I got the announcement!..and returned it with honors.

I like how the Leatherby's Ice Cream guy in the posted video (on the "Patronize" page) was surprised his donation to Yes on 8 wasn't private. I wonder if all this backlash (both the real and ridiculously exaggerated aspects of it) will cause any anti-gay people to think twice about donating to future LGBT-discriminating campaigns.

OK - I'll be up front here; I've had - and still have - some major issues with how same-sex marriage as an issue has been pushed by those who claim to know what strategeis are best. Putting that aside, I have even less use for Maggie Gallagher than I do for HRC (trust me, that's saying something.)

So...

This would take some doing - but its no more devious as the anti-SSM folks in Michigan claiming that the anti-marriage amendment there wouldn't affect domestic partner benefits. How about somehow getting a fake list of boycotted businesses to the christofascists? The fake list, of course, would be of friendly businesses and would be intended to trick the christofascists into pusposely patronizing the friendly businesses.

As mentioned - its just a thought. But, Maggie Gallagher is the type of [well, why should I inject any expletives; I think many of those used by commenters on this thread would be ones that she can't defend herself against - given that truth is a defense] that inspires strategizing against christofascists. I leave it to others to possibly implement.

2 companies on the Bust The Boycott website? Thats the best this beast can do? Oh Maggie, ever since you were found to be receiving cash from BushCo, your grazing habits haven't been the same.
