Episcopal Bishop, stripper -- tomato, tomahto
Lashing out at the Obama inaugural team for their decision to invite openly gay Bishop V. Gene Robinson, the Gay Men's Chorus of D.C., and the Lesbian and Gay Band Association to participate in various ceremonial activities, Rev. Dr. Gary Cass of the so-called Christian Anti-Defamation Commission has put forth the following musings:
"In order to be consistent in using this kind of reasoning, Obama ought to have a stripper lead off the inaugural parade followed by the Hell's Angel's Motorcycle Drill Team followed by the Crips Precision Handgun Corp. and the Transvestite Fashion Police. Just because something exists in society does not mean it is good and is to be paraded in front of everyone, especially children"

Which is obviously just nut-eroosky. I mean, come on -- the strippers would freeze their nipples off, the Hells Angels would make too much noise with their typically less-than-quiet Harleys, excluding the Bloods from the Handgun Cop. would go against the inclusive nature that Obama hopes to cultivate, and the transvestite fashion police are gonna be too busy in D.C.'s local bars criticizing the outfits of all the closeted social conservatives who've popped in for a drink....yea, that's it -- a drink. The setup is just not logical, Rev. Dr. C!!
But we do want to thank you for the suggestion, Rev. Dr. It's super cold here in NYC, and the blood-boiling that your offensive comparisons elicited has managed to warm us up considerably.

The urban legend is about 'Mama' Cass Elliot who supposedly died chocking on a ham sandwich. She had a heart attack but the ham sandwich rumor lives on...

Dykes on Bikes! Oh I wish i could post pics here, there were hundred of couples of JUST MARRIED Dykes in last years SF Pride parade... Some wonderful pics! Both in Tuxes (eg. vests but no shirts) One tux, one white dress or two white dresses etc. They were GREAT!

I wonder if he thinks the gay musicians perform their music and explicit sexual acts at the same time. It would certainly be a sight to behold if they do.

For someone who purports to be in favor of anti-defamation, he certainly seems to have no problem with casting aspersions himself. And, with an intent that could only be described as defamation. All of the first-stone casting and glass-house stone thrower parables are inescapably appropriate here.

The odd part about the Christian right is that I think they believe Gene preaches about nothing else other than gays and gay lifestyle. I'd be pretty surprised if the gay issue gets anything more than a passing reference in the entire speech.
It's like thinking that Obama's just going to talk about African-American issues for 4 years...oh wait, that's probably what these people believe too.
