Video: Homo-phonics
Have we all been misled about "homosexuality"? This dude certainly thinks so:
Well, he's right about the etymology: The word is derived from the Greek word "homos," just like the words "homonym" and "homogenous" (both pronounced in the suggested way). So is he right about the mispronunciation? And if so, does that mean that the social conservatives are also right, in one sense, in saying that we're improperly wrapping our lips and tongues around "homosexuals"?
We'll let you debate it. But one warning: Just steer clear of pronouncing it Hamas-sexuality, unless you are prepared to get into a far different and far more intense culture war discussion!

Your thoughts
William Safire used to kvetch about how "homosexuality" was an abomination, but only because "homo-" is a Greek root while "sex" is a Latin root. ;-)
