Cold feet for a cold feat: NC 'pro-fams' forsake warmth for sake of bias

by Jeremy Hooper

North-Carolina-protestorNeither rain, sleet, snow, or hail can keep down the U.S. postal system. The same maxim would seem to apply to North Carolina's "Going Postal Over The Prospect Of Two Dudes Marrying" set, for whom it will be a snowy day in hell before they stop raining on our wedding days.

This from The News & Observer:

RALEIGH -- More than a 1,000 people, most of them from Baptist churches across the state, stood on the ice-covered lawn outside the legislative building in Raleigh today to demand that state legislators give them a chance to vote on a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
...
The rally was a follow-up to a press conference last week in which Republican legislators re-introduced a bill that would allow North Carolina to hold a referendum on marriage. The bill has been sidetracked to a committee.

Rallying in Raleigh in really frigid temps. Bad if you're concerned about frostbite. But even worse if you're worried about the historical cold shoulder that will inevitably greet these discriminatory pushes.

**UPDATE: Some are putting the attendance figure closer to 3,000 people. Judging from the pictures we've seen, that figure seems suspect.
