Increased equality makes America's poll rise, makes us all less polarized
First there was that amazingly encouraging CBS News/NY poll that showed Americans now support marriage equality at a 42% high. Now comes these even more encouraging findings from ABC News-WaPo:
At its low, in 2004, just 32 percent of Americans favored gay marriage, with 62 percent opposed. Now 49 percent support it versus 46 percent opposed -- the first time in ABC/Post polls that supporters have outnumbered opponents.
More than half, moreover -- 53 percent -- say gay marriages held legally in another state should be recognized as legal in their states.

But don't worry, anti-gays who have so smugly and overconfidently used popular opinion as a bully club. Being constantly told that the public is against you does, undeniably, sting at first. But after a while, you start to get used to it.
Plus, we actually have no desire to opportunistically use heterosexual lives and loves against anyone, so there's actually a pretty good chance that you who have made our lives an ever-lovinghurting hell will get off without ever having to suffer the decades of tyranny that you so brazenly waged against us. You're welcome for that.

A WP/ABC poll can be flawed in some ways regarding exact numbers (it does tend to have a "liberal" bent), but the trend is real. A recent CBS Poll is showing a similar bounce.
