'Mmm, this coffee's good. So anyway, back to how we can further stigmatize gay people...'

by Jeremy Hooper

We've suspected that the National Organization For Marriage might follow up their ridiculous "Gathering Storm" ad with one focused on new far-right hero (and expert at double-sided tape placement) Carrie Prejean. These new Tweets from NOM's Maggie Gallagher only heighten that suspicion:

Though we don't really know why Maggie had to take Carrie anywhere for breakfast. After all, NOM has experienced so much egg on the face over the past month, we figured she could just serve up some of that.

*Just some of NOM's recent face-egg:

-NOM's incredibly low-rated "Gathering Storm" ad, and our response to it
-NOM's embarassing casting tapes.
-NOM
denies comments.
-NOM
supports 2M4M.
-NOM is
despised by YouTube community, receiving parody after parody after parody.
-NOM is unpopular
even on their own Facebook page.
-NOM
forfeits chance to defend their failure of an ad.
-NOM
overextends their copyright.
-NOM's Brian Brown
forfeits chance to defend self.
-NOM issues a "fact sheet" that
only gets the "sheet" part right.
-NOM's Maggie Gallagher
compares self to Vaclav Havel.
-NOM is cited by Frank Rich as
a death knell for the anti-gay movement.
-Despite all this, NOM
claims that their ad is a "success."
-NOM has a board member who once suggested Americans should
"destroy" their gay-accepting government.
-Then they ratchet up the absurdity one more notch and actually
"thank" Stephen Colbert for viciously skewering them. Plus their PR person, Mary Beth Hutchins, tweets even more denial our way.

Your thoughts

Her pastor is the one controlling her now I think... he coached her for all the interviews and she said wouldn't meet with Perez without him... maggie is an idiot if she doesn't think she and her group are poisonous to everything it touches...

I see a new sitcom on the horizon. Molded in a similar vein as "Ugly Betty" but featuring a lumpy/dumpy middle-aged bitterly angry, pug-nosed who never had the opportunity to pursue her ambition of being a beauty queen, now lives vicariously through (while simultaneously torpedoing the future careers of) young beauty queen runner-ups everywhere. And one cameo-ready episode will feature the hilarity of a former beauty queen loser, and landslide losing Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin!

The working title: "Dumpy Maggie"

Here's the projected scenario...

Carrie runs an ad for NOM claiming that she is a victim of the gathering storm because she lost Miss USA. Maggie will be so delighted that she won't notice just how, ahem, less-than-genious Miss Prejean sounds.

Immediately after it starts running, the Miss USA Pageant will release the scores showing that Carrie was not the front runner and had little chance of winning even if she answered brilliantly.

I also just learned that Prejean will tomorrow appear LIVE on Matt Barber and Mat Staver's radio show! To me, that's a whole other level, indicating an intent to really go against us.

There should be sound-bites galore from that Liberty (Obfuscating) Live (LOL) show! What will you bet that BB's wifey #2 shows up to keep an eye on tubby?

She won't be Miss California for long. Someone will come up with nude pics or something.
