NOM readies new ad; we don't bother waiting

by Jeremy Hooper

The National Organization For Marriage has just made this announcement:

In the wake of the Iowa Supreme Court decision and Vermont Legislature's action, the National Organization for Marriage will tomorrow launch a new national ad campaign that highlights how same-sex marriage undermines the core civil rights of those who believe in the simple truth that marriage is the union of one man and one woman.

So in anticipation of that propagandistic development, we're gonna go ahead and repost their recent regional ad....

...and our response to it:

After all, it's not like their new national ad is going to be all that different. That's the beauty part of challenging a movement that works from a collective script: While you're constantly surprised that they have no problem overlooking facts, NOM-brian-maggieshunning fundamental branches of government, supporting majority tyranny, using purely faith-based views to shun a civil right, reducing issues to simple-minded code-wording, or demonizing decent LGBT people in any way possible, you never have to wonder what sort of curve balls they might put into their rhetoric. Hell, to them "going rogue" means simply changing "sanctity of marriage" to "sanctity of man/woman marriage"!

But nevertheless, we will wait with baited ears to hear their latest opus. Maybe they'll shock us all and change "we must protect children" to "we need to safeguard youngsters."
